This 3 star hotel is located right beside the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (SARL) Ramkamheang station. Traveling by SARL, the International airport is less than 20 minutes away and a ride to downtown Bangkok takes only 10 minutes. There is also a railway halt in front of the hotel, served by local trains to Bangkok's Hualamphong station. There are convenient shops and a hawker centre nearby. Ensuite room can be as cheap as 600 Baht (£12) per night.

A very reasonably priced 2 Star hotel set inland from Patong beach. Room was clean and cosy. It's a 15 minutes walk to the Patong beach and Jungceylon shopping mall, the largest in Phuket. Next to the hotel is a 24-hour convenient shop. The room rate includes a buffet breakfast in the reception area, with toasts, cereal, half-boiled eggs, tea, coffee and fruit squash.
KO PHI PHI

Accommoations on the tropical island of Ko Phi Phi, like the rest of popular island resorts, are a tad expensive. These rustic huts with thatched roofs are one of the most affordable choices if you are looking for a private room with attached washroom.
A basic fan room, veranda with hammock, and toilet is around 700 Baht (£14) per night. For backpackers, there is an air-conditioned dormitory too. The beaches on both sides of the island are less than
5 minutes stroll.
